Pâtisserie

As a child, Méli-Mélo owner Marc Penvenne loved pastries so much that he dreamed about becoming a pastry chef one day. Today, he remains as excited and passionate about the classic French pastries that sweetened his childhood. Many of those same treats can be found in Méli-Mélo’s new pâtisserie, adjacent to the eatery. Located in the footprint of the original Méli-Mélo eatery, the patisserie opened in July 2011, offering buttery croissants, sweet macaroons and glazed apple tarts made daily with only the freshest ingredients. There are no additives or preservatives.

The pastries are made on the premises every morning by pastry chef Maxime Ollivier, who starts baking at 4 a.m. Ollivier learned from the best, receiving his training at Laudurée pâtisserie in France, also known as the birthplace of the macaroon.

The pâtisserie offers a delightful bite of France in Greenwich. Chocolate eclairs, lemon tarts and fruit tarts that glisten like colorful jewels will make you feel as if you are in a patisserie in Paris. Bite-sized chocolate morsels, such as the praline rocher and mini canele de bordeaux feature fine chocolates from around the world, including callebault chocolat, valrhona chocolat and belcolade chocolat.
